PORTSMOUTH AUCTION RAISES £2.35 MILLION
The chatter in Old Portsmouth bars has been the exceptional price of £500,000 achieved for 6 Oyster Mews, French Street, Old Portsmouth. The former boat builders store was sold for Executors of a much loved Old Portsmouth character, John Perry.
Such was the interest, Nesbits the City auctioneers dealt with over 100 inspections with strong bidding from several potential purchasers.
The former doctors' surgery in Stubbington Avenue, North End, also attracted interest for residential use and sold well in excess of the guide price at £364,000.
Auctioneer, David Nesbit, said the sale demonstrated a strong demand for property investment in the City, helped by the benefit of Stamp Duty relaxation.
